Aiden was hungry and tired. The hybrids had been saving the humans somehow so he hadn't eaten in months. How he prayed for the rich taste of iorn to return to his mouth and the hunger to dissapear. He had been beaten up too. How was he supposed to know that girl was married? She didn't tell him. And how was it his fault her husband walked in on them? He should have knocked. Idiot. Aiden laughed to himself remembering the mans face as he walked in. She was not even the best looking girl in town. But Aiden was male, mans got to eat!
He looked at the lake and sat down on the enbankment. He was so hungry that the clear blue water looked shocking red. But as soon as he stuck his hand in it the water turned back to water and the hunger returned. Stupid Hybrids. How would they like it if their food supply was cut off? Aiden lent back on the grass. The blades reached up and tickled his nose. He smiled but it soon got on his nerves and he grabbed at it furiously and began ripping it from it's roots. Once he had calmed down, he let out a long sigh and he turned on his side and closed his eyes. It was nice, peaceful and quiet. Night was when the birds had gone to sleep so there was no stupid singing to get on his nerves. But he then heard a twig snap. His eyes shot open and he bolted upright. Rustles in the bushes. "Who's there?" he called.

Saphira padded quietly through the forest in her wolf form, heading for the lake. Another three humans had died in the lycan hunt, and two earlier that very same day by the vampires. She was going to murder her father when she got hold of him-he had told her and Raven that they would be able to rescue at least half of the humans the lycans had rounded up for their hunts...only two had eventually made it, another succumbing to the lycan venom that had entered his wounds from the hunt. Some time away from the camp would do her good. As she reached the edge of the forest, the lake almost glistening silver in the moonlight, she flexed her wings, rustling the trees.
"Who's there?"
She sniffed the night air before stepping from the trees, snarling as she recognised the scent of a vampire. She flexed her wings and transformed back, her clothing seemingly melting from beneath her raven pelt. The hood of her long black jacket was still pulled up over her hair and with any luck, was masking her features.
"I could ask you the same thing" she retorted menacingly, "It's not safe for vampires in this forest. Lots of hybrids..."

It's not safe for vampires in this forest. Lots of hybrids..
Aiden spun round in time to see a hybrid emerge from the trees and transforming into it's seemingly human form. They had their hood pulled over their hair so he could not see them properly. Especially with only the moon as a source of light. Aiden was not scared of hybrids. He was not scared of most things but it certainly was creepy not seeing who he was talking to.
He folded his arms across his chest and arched an eyebrow. He did not think much of hybrids. But he did know it was wrong for them to be outlawed. It was not their fault how they were born. Aiden knew that more than anyone. He did not say anything but instead just studied the mysterious figure. They were quite small and their frame hinted that it was infact a woman. This calmed Aidens nerves a little and he let his mucles relax. "Can I help?" he asked casually.

"Can I help?"
Saphira cocked her head to one side, regarding the vampire before her with a slightly detached sense of interest. He didn't seem to be like the other vampires she encountered-her mother and the nobles to name a few. She put her hands on her hips, a small smile playing about her lips. If she managed to get a vampire on side, maybe the hybrids would finally get a way into the main court at Oaklea....
"Just wondering why a vampire is out in the forest in the middle of the night" she smirked, walking towards to water, "I might be able to put up with that but there are plenty of hybrids I know would rip a vampire to shreds as soon as look at them"

Just wondering why a vampire is out in the forest in the middle of the night
"Well I'm hardly going to be out in the middle of the day am I?" he laughed. Aiden watched with interest as she walked closer to the water. He wondered why she had not attacked him yet or at least start giving him a mouthful. He had come across hybrids before and they had attacked him the moment he had met them. But he just watched this one curiously. He couldn't help but think something was going on.
He put his hands on his hips. His black nails glinting in the moonlight. He looked around at the trees warily and listened out for any movements. This was probably a trick. Send out the pretty one for a distraction then attack when he least expected it. "Come on, where are they hiding? This is an ambush right?" He walked up to the trees and looked behind them catiously. "I'm not stupid."

"Come on, where are they hiding? This is an ambush right? I'm not stupid."
"Hiding?" Saphira frowned, sitting down to trail her hands in the pleasantly warm water, "When you say hiding, you mean back at camp under orders from my brother to get as utterly drunk as possible then they're off in a general that way direction" she waved her hand in the vague direction of the other side of the lake, "I'm alone, I swear"
The smile playing about her lips grew as she watched him look round at the trees-he was a jumpy one...

I'm alone, I swearAiden looked behind one last tree and then he relaxed a little. He still felt like something was going on and her smile did not relax him at all. If Aiden had learnt anything in his lifetime, it was not to trust anyone. He turned to the woman and walked over to her slowly. He crouched down beside her and gave her a confused look. "Who are you?" he asked with a small smile. If anyone knew that he was talking to a hybrid, he would be in deep trouble. It wouldn't be just a few days in the cells, he could handle that, it would be death. Aiden didn't understand why the queen had outlawed hybrids. They had not done anything wrong. (Apart from meddling in the vampire hunts.) ((Sorry quite short. Writers block it's annoying))

"Who are you?"
Saphira laughed slightly, her small fangs slightly pricking her bottom lip as she bit back another smile. They were nowhere near as prominent as a vampires-a blessing that meant any hybrid could just about pass as human- but they were there, a hint at her heritage. It was strange to think that if she and her brother hadn't been outlawed, they would be royalty; posessing the combined bloodlines of Selena and Gabriel.
"Saphira Thorne" she said bluntly, knowing that bother her name and her brother's were part of the queendom's gossip on a practically daily baisis, "Might I ask yours?"

Fang was getting bored at camp. Everybody else was drinking and having a good time but he was not. He dident like achohol, its taste made him want to throw up. He decided to take a walk, perhaps down to the lake. As Fang walked he sniffed the air as he usually does. He smelled Saphira, yes he saw her go for a walk, but then he smelled a...vampire. Whats a vampire doing by the lake at this time of night. Whoever it is must be crazy. He was getting closer and he started to hear talking. The last thing he heard was, "Might I ask yours?" After a few minutes of waitign he decided to show himself. "Why, I dident know you were one to associate with vampires." He said in a calm voice as he came into view of Saphira and Aiden. "Or perhaps hes just associating with you?" He asked sarcasticly. He then turned his attention to the vampire. "And what are you doing by the lake this late at night." Fang asked accusingly.

Saphira Thorne
Saphira Thorne. Saphira Thorne. That name did sound familular. He had the name Thorne mentioned in whispers. He hadn't listened to the gossip himself so he didn't have a clue what it was all about. He gave a wide smile, exposing his gigantic fangs. "Nice name," he beamed. "You're not the leader of the hybrids are you?"
Might I ask yours?
Aiden grinned again. "Aiden Cogitare." He knew that when Saphira had emerged from the trees he should have ran. It was against the rules for him to be talking to a Hybrid. But then again, Aiden was never one for rules. He looked at the water and watched the light of the moon shimmer of it's surface. He smiled slightly as he watched the still water reflecting the moons shape. It was hard not to stick a finger in it. He frowned as he stomach rumbled and he was reminded of his hunger. "So tell me," he said, turning back up to Saphira, "What is it with all the interfering with our hunts?" He knew the answer would be about something to do with saving humans or she would just deny it. Well, there wasn't any evidence that it was the hybrids who were rescuing the humans. But it would hardly be the vampires. And humans are to stupid to save themselves. His tongue felt the bottom of one of his fangs. It was still razor sharp and in desperate need of biting something.

"Nice name. You're not the leader of the hybrids are you?"
Saphira paused, debating whether or not to reveal her identity just yet. It wasn't like he could freely admit to having spoke to her. Selena had made sure of that the day she outlawed them.
"One of them" she stated simply, watching her fingers as she lazily trailed them through the water.
"So tell me, what is it with all the interfering in our hunts?"
"We have an alliance with the humans to uphold" Saphira found herself explaining, "And it's our one main law not to hunt humans. Not like everyone survives the hunts anyways, there are always those who don't survive"
Hearing a noise in the trees behind them, she turned in time to see Fang appear from the shadows.
"Why, I didn't know you were one to associate with vampires. Or perhaps he's just associating with you?"
"Purest coincidence" she replied, her tone scathing, "How wazsa I to know there would be someone else here in the middle fo the night?"

"Lets see.." He then pointed to his nose. "I was sure you of all of us could smell out a vampire." Fang said. "But i guess your not as special as we all thought." Fang then realized what he had just said. He quickly bent onto his knees. " I am sorry I said that. If you wish to associate with vampires, the very creatures that hate us and exiled us, then so be it, it is your choice not mine." He then stood and looked at the vampire. He then turned. "I will be close by if you need me. With that he walked back into the trees and climed a high tree were he could watch in case Saphira needed him although he doubted she would. He was strong but he doubted he was as strong as Saphira. Wehn he first saw the vampire he wanted to rip him apart for even looking at Saphira.

We have an alliance with the humans to uphold
Aiden frowned but laughed at the same time. "But us vampires have to eat. Why are you trying to kill us?" He had to hide his annoyance at her remarks. Humans were stupid creatures. Vampires were their superiors. Why would they have an alliance with humans of all beasts?
And what are you doing by the lake this late at night
Aiden looked at the man as if he was stupid. "Well I'm hardly going to come out in the day am I?" he snapped in a mock tone. This hybrid did not seem to be as nice as Saphira and he stood up so he looked taller. He looked at the other man warily and then down at Saphira. "Thought you said you were alone?" he accused her.
He watched the man walk away and climb a tree. Aiden laughed slightly and then looked back at Saphira. "Looks like I better get going then," he said, turning to go away. He didn't want to leave. He was more interested in talking to Saphira and learning about what was going on with the vampire hunts. Plus he quite liked her. She was the first hybrid not to try and rip him apart.

"But us vampires have to eat. Why are you trying to kill us?"
"Surely you have enough humans to hunt" Saphira half snapped, memories of the failed rescue from earlier that day returning to the forefront of her mind, "And not every human survived the hunts as Selena and my father know"
She hated admitting her mother was in fact the queen-being outlawed by your own flesh and blood could do that to a girl...
"Let's see...I was sure you of all of us could smell out a vampire. But I guess you're not as special as we all thought. I am sorry I said that. If you wish to associate with vampires, the very creatures that hate us and exiled us, then so be it, it is your choice not mine.I will be close by if you need me"
Saphira growled slightly as Fang turned and headed back towards the trees. She loathed the way some of the pack members treated her and Raven like they were invincible and how they seemed only out for the blood of the vampires, (not so much the lycans). She shot Aiden a small apologetic smile.
"Looks like I better get going then"
"I'd probably have to get back to camp to. I'll see you around Aiden"
She turned back to the trees and walked towards the one in which Fang was perched.
"Coming back to camp then?" she asked before transforming once more and beginning to pad through the forest undergrowth

Fang sighed and jumped onto the ground. "Of course." he said to her before transforming himself. As he walked he thought about what had happened. he had mouthed off to the leader of the hybrids, very bad idea, and his leader had had a cival conversation with a vampire. Weird day for sure. But he had had weirder days. Saphira walked ahead of him. He couldent help but watch her, she was beautiful, but he would never admit that. HE sighed to himself. He was getting more lonely than ever these days. His friends had started distenting themselfs from him. He had no idea why, but if they dident want anything to do with him, he dident want anything to do with them, that was his logic. Before he knew it he was back at camp.
